SCDRP 2026 Advisory Board Election

The SCDRP Advisory Board plays a vital role in shaping the future of the Partnership. Board members help guide our strategic direction, strengthen relationships with regional partners, and support the growth of our programs and resources. Members also collaborate through committees focused on funding, partnership development, governance, and planning our annual meeting.

October 10, 2025: Nominations Open 

October 31st, 2025, 5:00 pm EST: Nominations Close 

December 5, 2025 - December 19, 2025: Online Elections 

December 22, 2025: Election results announced 

January 2025: New Advisory Board Member Onboarding 

February 1, 2026: Official Start of Duties 

March 4-5, 2026: SCDRP Annual Meeting, In-Person Advisory Board Meeting and Officer Election 

 

Seats up for Election

 

Nonprofit: 2 seats 

  • To be eligible for the nonprofit seat, the nominated member shall be professional staff for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

 

Puerto Rico: 1 seat 

  • To be eligible for a state/territory seat, the nominated member shall work for or with the state/territory government for which the candidate is nominated.

 

USVI: 1 seat 

  • To be eligible for a state/territory seat, the nominated member shall work for or with the state/territory government for which the candidate is nominated.

 

State of South Carolina: 1 seat

  • To be eligible for a state/territory seat, the nominated member shall work for or with the state/territory government for which the candidate is nominated. 

 

State of Georgia: 1 seat 

  • To be eligible for a state/territory seat, the nominated member shall work for or with the state/territory government for which the candidate is nominated.

 

Local Government: 1 seat 

  • To be eligible for a local government seat, the nominated member shall be a public-sector, career professional for a county, sub-state regional, or municipal government for which the candidate is nominated.


 

Requirements

 

All nominees to the Advisory Board are expected to: a) have professional experience in community resilience, natural disaster recovery, emergency management, and/or climate mitigation and adaptation, b) commit to a 3-year term, and c) have a professional address in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.

 

To make or receive a nomination, you must be an SCDRP Member in Good Standing. Per the SCDRP Policies and Procedures, SCDRP Members in Good Standing are defined as Individual Members, Student Members, Supporting Partner Group Members, Sustaining Partner Group Members, and Benefactor Group Members with a current annual membership. Nominees should be willing to commit to a 3-year term if elected. 
 

How to Submit a Nomination

 

Members in Good Standing can nominate themselves or other Members in Good Standing, with their concurrence. To submit a nomination, fill out the Google Form here

 

If you are unable to access the Google Form, please email us at scdrp@secoora.org with responses to the following questions:

  1. Are you nominating yourself or someone else? 

  2. For which Advisory Board seat are you nominating a candidate?  (State of Florida, Puerto Rico, Non-profit Organization, Local Government, Federal Government, or Academic Institution)

  3. What is the name of the person you are nominating (the nominee)?

  4. What is the name of the nominee's organization?

  5. What is the nominee's email address?

  6. Is the nominee aware of your nomination and agree to this nomination? (Please seek their approval before submission.)

  7. Please send submit the following materials for the nominee:  

    1. 250-word biography

    2. Statement of interest

    3. Headshot photo
